Being on the job market is the most soul crushing thing you can ever do. However, you are not alone in this journey. While there are plenty of organizations and associations for Information Science job seekers to join, there was no place for us to share in our struggles of job hunting and follow along in a new journey of a career path. Until now. Welcome to The Tipsy Librarian!

My reaction after every fucking job rejection for a year.

What began as a personal blog to bitch about job hunting struggles and a reading/drinking journey through Ted Federle’s Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with a Literary Twist continues to evolve into a platform for other Information Science job seekers and a space for me to chat about what it’s really like to start a career as a Librarian and Archivist.

I hope you enjoy past and present posts!

Now The Tipsy Librarian is a place for more than just my experience and thoughts. The platform is open to everyone and anyone in the Information Science field who wants to share their experiences.

Write away my friends!

Those experiences can include internships that you enjoyed (or didn’t), thoughts on your graduate school experience, the struggle of job hunting, insight into an interview, opinions on current Information Science (libraries, archives, museums, etc) affairs, and/or the unknown journey of beginning a career.
